SHORT FUNCTIONAL TEXT

1. Announcement
is a verbal or written statement intended to tell something to the crowd.
• minimal verbal announcement includes:
a. to whom the announcement is intended.
b. content or niaksud and announcement. verbal announcement
usually brief and end with the words terirna love.
Things that need to be in the form of a written announcement are:
a. Title or type of event (The title / type of event)
b. Date and time (date and time)
c. Place (place)
d. people / contact address (contact person / address)

2. Advertisement (Iklan)

Advertisement is a public announcement in a newspaper or on the radio, television, or Internet advertising something such as a product for sale or an event.

3. The invitation card
 is a written paper or electronic image that is sent to people for different occasions. The message informs a receiver about an event to which he is invited. Invitation cards can be customized (different sizes, colors, themes, materials, fonts and folding designs) and made out of multiple materials (paper, tissue, textile, plastic).
OCCASSIONS
The invitation cards are sent with different occasions: wedding, baby shower, bridal shower, birthday party, celebrations and anniversaries. There are different designs for each occasion, specially made to express the type of event. For example, a wedding invitation might illustrate two wedding rings, while a birthday party invitation might illustrate colored balloons and confetti.

4. Brochure
A brochure or pamphlet is a leaflet advertisement. Brochures may advertise locations, events, hotels, products, services, etc. They are usually succinct in language and eye-catching in design, and usually using a headlines.

5. Pamphlet
Pamphlet is An unbound printed work, usually with a paper cover or
A short essay or treatise, usually on a current topic, published without a binding.
It means that A pamphlet is an unbound booklet (that is, without a hard cover or binding). It may consist of a single sheet of paper that is printed on both sides and folded in half, in thirds, or in fourths (called a leaflet), or it may consist of a few pages that are folded in half and saddle stapled at the crease to make a simple book.

6. Poster
A poster is any large piece of printed paper designed to be attached to a wall or vertical surface. Typically posters include both textual and graphic elements, although a poster may be either wholly graphical or wholly textual. Posters are designed to be both eye-catching and convey information. Posters may be used for many purposes, and they are a frequent tool of advertisers (particularly of events, musicians and films) to communicate a message.

7.  Banner
A banner  is a flag or other piece of cloth bearing a symbol, logo, slogan or other message. Banner-making is an ancient craft.
The word derives from late Latin bandum , a cloth out of which a flag is made ( Latin banderia , Italian bandiera ). German developed the word to mean an official edict or proclamation and since such written orders often prohibited some form of human activity, bandum  assumed the meaning of a ban, control, interdict or excommunication. Banns has the same origin meaning an official proclamation, and abandon  means to change loyalty or disobey orders, semantically “to leave the cloth or flag”.
In other word, banner is Depending on how it’s used, a banner is either a graphic image that announces the name or identity of a site (and often is spread across the width of the Web page) or is an advertising image. Advertisers sometimes count banner “views,” or the number of times a banner graphic image was downloaded over a period of time.

8. Letter
The letter is a written communication that is written on a piece of paper and insert it into the envelope.

Criteria mail:
· Packaged in an attractive form.
· Language is easy to understand.
· Directly to the point (not long-winded).

The letter consists of two kinds, namely:
a.)Informal
b.)Formal

Informal Letter

Here is some examples of Informal Letter which usually we send to our friends, parents, relatives or anyone else.

Dear Patrick,
I was very glad to hear about your recent Supersemar Scholarship. I know how hard you have worked and learned, and you certainly deserve it. It is a great pity that I can’t visit you to celebrate it because I have a lot of task to be done. But I’ll call you when I have finish my task. Meanwhile, all the very best for your future.
